Studio Policy

YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO READ AND SIGN THE UPDATED POLICY BEFORE YOUR FIRST LESSON.

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS AND PARENT INVOLVEMENT
-
Parents taking an active role in their child's music education has a direct impact on their progress.
-
Practice needs to become a HABIT. Daily practice (at least 5 days and preferably 7) is required and expected in order to make progress. Our Parent's Guide To Piano Practice will point you to the right directions. ^_^
-
Students are expected to arrive at lessons on time. If a student is late, the lesson will still finish at the original end time.
-
It is IMPERATIVE and EXPECTED that students bring ALL lesson materials to every lesson.

REGISTRATION
Students must register by July 15th for the entire upcoming academic year. The academic year starts in September and ends in June of the following year. To reserve their spot on the schedule, a $60 yearly registration fee must be paid by July 15th, or their spot will be made available to other students. This registration fee goes toward your September payment and is non-refundable.
Please understand that it’s challenging to create a schedule that suits everyone. Therefore, time slots will be granted on a “FIRST COME FIRST SERVED” basis. The earlier you register, the more likely you will get the day and approximate time frame you prefer.

STUDENT ABSENCES
Students will be assigned a time slot for their lesson prior to the start of each school year. At that time, we will do our best to accommodate each family's scheduling preferences. Students may cancel lessons as needed, with the understanding that missed lessons will not be rescheduled or refunded.

TEACHER ABSENCES
A teacher may be unable to work on occasion due to illness, inclement weather, or other emergencies. Sunny Side Music Denton reserves the right to cancel two lessons per student per school year without refund or make-up lesson in these circumstances. If a teacher has to cancel more than two lessons in a school year, you will be given a make-up lesson or a credit toward your next tuition installment.

TERMINATION OF LESSONS
It is expected that students will commit to lessons for the academic year (September-June). If for any reason, the student needs to terminate their lessons, one month's notice is required. Tuition is non-refundable once paid.
